The IfG.CC - eGovernment Competence Center (ifg.cc) consists of different organizations that research and develop sustainable solutions for modern governance and government that make extensive use of new information and communication technology (ICT). The IfG.CC specializes in issues that relate to the use of ICT in state and society, particularly transformational effects related to ICT. Specific subjects include new organizational models, the application of ICT as part of regional strategies, health, and selected questions in the area of security and critical infrastructures.
If they are to be mastered, rising global challenges such as globalization, climate change, terrorism, resource shortages and demographic change, will require new governance forms enabled by ICT. These new forms of governance are the focus of the IfG.CC's research and activities. The IfG.CC constantly evaluates global developments in the areas of eGovernment, e-health, e-learning, information society, e-services, critical infrastructure and so on and develops solutions for new forms of electronic governance and government. In addition, the IfG.CC supports governments and public administrations with research services, practice-oriented consulting services and vocational training so that they can strategically develop and implement their modernization plans.
With its head office in the capital region in Potsdam, Germany, the IfG.CC is close to the seats of three governments - the German federal government and the state governments of Berlin and Brandenburg.
