Potsdam Award for Young Scientists
print pageprint page

The winner of the 2nd Potsdam Award for Young Scientists, awarded by the City of Potsdam, is Dr. Sabine Kahlau of the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Plant Physiology in Golm. The nomination process for this 5,000 Euro award had started in spring 2008.

By means of this annual award, the City of Potsdam wants to honor extraordinary achievements of young scientists at the start of their careers. It is also intended to consolidate Potsdam's image as a city that is home to vibrant, future-oriented science, reminding us of the fact that Potsdam is one of the leading centers in Germany for science and research, with a broad variety of research fields, ranging from the natural and technical sciences to social sciences and the humanities.

The 1st Potsdam Award for Young Scientists was presented during the official celebration of Einstein Day at the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences on December 14, 2007.
